Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Al Nassr Exit as Saudi Pro League Season Ends

Cristiano Ronaldo has ignited speculation over his future with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr after posting a cryptic message on social media late Monday, just hours after the Saudi Pro League wrapped up its season, as per Al Jazeera.
“This chapter is over,” the 40-year-old Portuguese superstar wrote, accompanied by a photo of himself in Al Nassr colours. He added: “The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in December 2022 following his departure from Manchester United. His current contract expires this summer, leaving his next move uncertain.
Although Ronaldo was the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League this season with 24 goals, his club endured a disappointing campaign — finishing third in the league and crashing out of the Asian Champions League semifinals to Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale.
Unlike rivals Al Hilal, Al Nassr failed to qualify for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States from June 14. A special transfer window for the 32 participating teams will run from June 1 to 10, potentially opening the door for Ronaldo to join another club competing in the global tournament.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently confirmed there are “discussions” underway that could see Ronaldo participate in the Club World Cup. Speaking during an interview with streamer IShowSpeed, Infantino said:
“There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup … who knows, who knows.”
Ronaldo’s longtime rival, Lionel Messi, will feature in the tournament with his current club Inter Miami, further fueling anticipation of a possible reunion on the world stage.
Just last year, Ronaldo suggested he might end his career with Al Nassr.
