Lander Valley High School standout Hunter Kihn has officially signed his letter of intent to join the golf program at Central Wyoming College (CWC), marking the next step in his athletic and academic journey, County 10 reports.

Kihn, a recent LVHS graduate, cited the college’s location and community connections as key reasons for his decision.

“It’s close to home, close to family and I know a lot of people going there,” he said. “It will be a great opportunity for me to level-up my game and hopefully play for a bigger college in the next few years.”

Reflecting on his time at LVHS, Kihn praised the school’s competitive spirit and support for student-athletes.

“Our athletics are pretty solid—we’re always competing, we’re always wanting to win. I think golf is right up there as a program,” he said, adding that the school focuses on building high-caliber athletes across all sports.

While Kihn enjoyed the thrill of tournaments, he shared that his fondest memories stem from the camaraderie he built with teammates and classmates.

“I’ll miss all the bus trips and staying in hotel rooms after tournaments,” he noted.

Looking ahead to the fall season, Kihn plans to participate in several junior golf tournaments this summer as he prepares for collegiate competition.

“I’ll do whatever I can to improve and get ready for the season,” he said.

Central Wyoming College’s golf program, under the direction of Coach Mike Neuman, kicks off its fall schedule in early September. Kihn’s addition is expected to strengthen the Rustlers’ roster as they aim for continued success in regional competition.
