Governor Mark Gordon has appointed Matt Sachse as the interim director of the Wyoming Department of Revenue, following the retirement of former director Brenda Henson, Wyoming News Now reports.

Henson had led the department since 2021.

Sachse brings extensive experience to the interim role, having worked in the Department of Revenue for over two decades. He currently serves as administrator of the department’s Mineral Tax Division, a position he has held since 2024. Prior to that, he spent 19 years as the division’s valuation manager. He also worked at the Wyoming Department of Audit from 1996 to 2005.

In addition to his professional background, Sachse holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from California State University, Fullerton, and served six years in the United States Air Force.

The Wyoming Department of Revenue oversees several key divisions, including Administrative Services, Excise Tax, Property Tax, Mineral Tax, and Liquor. Sachse is expected to guide the department through this transitional period while continuing his duties within the Mineral Tax Division.
