A 68-year-old Wyoming man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred at a Motel 6 in Clarkston, Washington earlier this week.

Thomas R. Krogman of Gillette, Wyoming, was taken into custody by the Gillette Police Department on the afternoon of June 4, 2025. The arrest was made pursuant to a warrant issued by the Asotin County Prosecutor’s Office and the Clarkston Police Department. Krogman is facing a charge of attempted murder in the first degree.

The arrest follows a stabbing attack that took place on June 2, 2025, at the Motel 6 on Bridge Street in Clarkston, where a hotel employee was reportedly injured. According to a statement from Clarkston Police Chief Josh Daniel, investigators quickly developed leads and evidence over the course of two days, ultimately identifying Krogman as a suspect. Authorities have stated the incident was not random and that the suspect had a personal connection to the victim.

The case remains under investigation as detectives continue to determine a motive and whether any other individuals may have been involved.

The Clarkston Police Department acknowledged the assistance of the Lewiston Police Department, whose use of FLOCK security cameras and an automated license plate recognition system played a key role in identifying the suspect vehicle and license plate. Officials also expressed gratitude to the Gillette Police Department for their timely action in apprehending Krogman.

Krogman will face charges in Asotin County Superior Court.
