The Wyoming Coaches Association (WCA) has revealed the recipients of its 2025 Spring Sports Coach of the Year awards, WyoPreps reports.

Chosen by fellow WCA coaches, these honors recognize outstanding leadership and achievement across various sports and classifications. The selected coaches will be formally recognized during a ceremony scheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the auditorium of Natrona County High School.

The awards span multiple spring sports, including outdoor track and field, soccer, and softball, as well as junior high and middle school levels. Assistant coaches were also acknowledged for their contributions.

Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year Honorees:

  • 1A Girls: Mike Lashley, Lingle-Ft. Laramie

  • 2A Girls: Phil Thatcher, Kemmerer

  • 3A Girls: Josie Rounds, Lander

  • 4A Girls: Becky Sondag, Natrona County

  • 1A Boys: Ryan Olson, Burlington

  • 2A Boys: Kirk McLaughlin, Big Horn

  • 3A Boys: Josh Sanders, Lovell

  • 4A Boys: Taylor Kelting, Sheridan

  • Assistant Coaches: Brent Gross, Buffalo; Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Walsh

Soccer Coach of the Year Honorees:

  • 3A Girls: Marian Miears, Cody

  • 4A Girls: Mary Hoelscher and Nate McClennen, Jackson

  • 3A Boys: Dick Edgcomb, Buffalo

  • 4A Boys: Matt Hoelscher, Jackson

  • Assistant Coach: Alex Lassle, Sheridan

Softball Coach of the Year Honorees:

  • 4A: Haley Gray, Campbell County

  • Assistant Coach: Ben Partlow, Thunder Basin

Junior High/Middle School Honorees:

  • Wade Messner, Wright

  • Mark Bedard, Rock Springs
