Student-athletes from across Wyoming are representing their colleges at the 2025 College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR), one of the most prestigious events in collegiate rodeo, held annually in Casper, Casper Star-Tribune reports.

Competitors from four Wyoming institutions—Casper College, the University of Wyoming, Gillette College, and Central Wyoming College—are participating in a range of events, showcasing the state’s strong presence in college rodeo.

Casper College is fielding a skilled lineup, including James Perrin, Eastan West, and Malcom Heathershaw in saddle bronc riding; Monte Downare in bareback riding; and Clay Helm, Kash Reynolds, and Jade Byrne in team roping.

The University of Wyoming has sent one of the largest groups from the state, with Colton Farrow competing in bareback riding; Stefan Tonita and Emmit Ross in bull riding; Rhett Witt in both tie-down roping and steer wrestling; and Jacob Wang in steer wrestling. In team roping, Bodie Mattson and Troupe Coors are representing the Cowboys. The women’s events include Rayne Grant and Emme Norsworthy in barrel racing; Landry Haugen in breakaway roping and goat tying; Jordyn McNamee and Staheli Adams in breakaway; Josie Mousel and Riata Day in goat tying.

Gillette College also brings strong contenders, with Cooper Filipek in bareback riding; Dalton Porch in tie-down roping; and Trevor Sorge and Tel Sorenson in team roping. The women’s team includes Haiden Thompson (breakaway and goat tying), Staheli Adams (breakaway), and barrel racers Ashlyn Goven and Brylee Grubb.

Central Wyoming College is represented by Jace Mayfield in steer wrestling and team roping, Caden Gines in team roping, and Brahmer Gaehring in bull riding.

The CNFR gathers the nation’s top collegiate rodeo athletes and serves as the culmination of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) season.
