The University of Wyoming wrestling team is set to move into a new, state-of-the-art practice facility located in the John Corbett Building, with completion expected after the 2025–26 season, the University of Wyoming Athletics reports.

The upgraded facility will be ready ahead of the 2026–27 wrestling season and is being hailed as a significant milestone for the program.

The new facility will span 13,431 square feet—more than twice the size of the team’s current space. It will include a 9,315-square-foot practice area large enough for over five wrestling mats, making it one of the largest wrestling-specific facilities in the country.

“This is an incredible testament to how important wrestling is to the state of Wyoming,” said head coach Mark Branch. “This facility will be a key factor in our continued success competing in the Big 12, and it will rival any college wrestling facility in the country.”

In addition to expanded mat space, the facility will include modern amenities designed to support athlete performance and wellness. These features include new locker rooms for athletes and staff, a strength training area, a sports medicine and recovery section, and a team meeting/lounge space with seating to observe practice sessions.

The development reflects a broader commitment to Wyoming wrestling, a program on the rise. The Cowboys recently finished 22nd at the NCAA Championships, with 197-pound wrestler Joey Novak earning All-American honors after placing fifth. The team is looking forward to a competitive season ahead, including several home duals against nationally ranked opponents.
