Wyoming Resident Dies Following Motorcycle Collision in Sturgis

A woman from Newcastle, Wyoming, died Wednesday as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle collision that occurred earlier in the week in Sturgis, South Dakota, KOTA Territory reports.

The incident took place Monday after the motorcyclist exited westbound Interstate 90 at exit 32. According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety (DPS), her motorcycle collided with a car traveling north on Junction Avenue. Authorities have not released the woman’s name at this time.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and no determination of fault has been made public. The driver of the Ford Taurus involved in the incident was not injured.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died two days later on Wednesday.
