A Laramie County District Court has sentenced a Burns, Wyoming man to a lengthy prison term following his conviction on charges of sexual abuse involving three minors.

According to a statement from the Cheyenne Police Department, 45-year-old John Allen was sentenced by District Judge Catherine Rogers to serve 75 to 105 years in the Wyoming Department of Corrections. Allen pleaded guilty to three separate counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

The case originated from a report received on June 26, 2024, when a Cheyenne police officer responded to an allegation of sexual assault involving a minor. The investigation, led by the department’s Detective Bureau, revealed that Allen had repeatedly abused three minors between 2013 and 2021.

Following the investigation, Allen was arrested on September 6, 2024, and booked into the Laramie County jail. The case proceeded through the judicial system over the following months, culminating in the June 2025 sentencing.
