Republican Congresswoman’s Office Evacuated After Receiving Chilling Threats

Florida Rep. Kat Cammack’s district office was evacuated Wednesday after investigators determined that credible death threats had been made against her, her family, and her staff. Law enforcement said the evacuation came in response to what Cammack described as alarming backlash from pro-abortion activists following her public disclosure of a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy .
Cammack, who represents Florida’s 3rd District, shared on X that she had received thousands of harassing messages, including dozens deemed credible threats. The threats intensified after her recent Wall Street Journal interview in which she revealed the pregnancy was nearly fatal and that the state’s six-week abortion ban complicated her access to emergency medical care .
Screenshots shared by the congresswoman include chilling language—from death wishes against her unborn child to ominous warnings like “Count your days.” One message reportedly state%
“Too bad those of us who actually believe in freedom … would be better off if you hadn’t survived.”
Law enforcement confirmed they are treating the messages as serious and are actively investigating .
Cammack clarified that she did not vote for Florida’s “heartbeat” law and emphasized that although she personally opposes abortion, she supports exceptions in cases of rape, incest, or when the mother’s life is at risk . She said the experience has only strengthened her resolve:
“I will not be intimidated. I won’t back down in the fight for women and families,” she wrote.
Federal authorities—including the U.S. Capitol Police and local law enforcement—collaborated on the evacuation and investigation. The congresswoman urged for honest conversations about maternal healthcare free from fear and misinformation .
