Trump Mobile is defending its claims that its newly launched T1 smartphone is manufactured in the United States, even as promotional materials have shifted away from explicitly using the phrase “Made in America,” USA Today reports.

The T1 Phone, part of a new mobile service unveiled earlier this month by the Trump Organization, initially featured messaging on its website prominently stating the device was “MADE IN AMERICA.” However, as of June 25, that language has been removed and replaced with phrases such as “brought to life right here in the USA” and “proudly American,” according to reporting by The Verge.

Despite the revision, a spokesperson for Trump Mobile, Chris Walker, reaffirmed the company’s original manufacturing claims.

“T1 phones are proudly being made in America,” Walker said in a statement to USA TODAY. “Speculation to the contrary is simply inaccurate.”

The T1 Phone is a gold-colored Android device expected to launch later in 2025, priced at $499 with an initial down payment of $100. Alongside the device, the company is offering a service plan called “The 47 Plan,” which includes unlimited talk, text, and data for $47.45 per month — a price that references Donald Trump’s bid to become the 47th president.

The service also includes added perks such as:

  • Free international calling to over 100 countries

  • Long-distance calling support for military members and families

  • 24/7 roadside assistance through Drive America

  • Telehealth access, including mental health support and prescription delivery

  • No contracts or credit checks

In a June 16 interview on Fox Business, Trump Organization Executive Vice President Eric Trump described the T1 as a US-based product.

“You’re going to have phones that are made right here in the United States of America,” he said, highlighting St. Louis, Missouri, as a central hub for the venture’s operations.

The shift in marketing language, however, has drawn attention to how the Trump Organization is presenting its product’s origin. A pre-order banner previously included on the company’s website referred to the device as a “MADE IN THE USA ‘T1 Phone,'” and promotional images shared earlier in June supported that messaging.

Trump Mobile has not provided specific details on the supply chain or manufacturing locations for the T1, and questions remain about the extent of domestic production.
