Previously Deported Iranian National Picked Up After Refusing ICE Arrest in Texas

A previously deported Iranian man was taken back into custody in Texas this week after he fled and resisted arrest when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers attempted to apprehend him at his home.
According to ICE officials, the individual, whose identity and exact age have not been released, was spotted in Dallas and identified through routine checks. Officers arrived at his residence with a deportation order issued from a prior removal. As ICE agents attempted to execute the order, he allegedly fled into the house and refused to cooperate.
After a brief standoff, law enforcement entered the residence and arrested the man. Authorities report he complies with standard deportation procedures and remains in ICE custody pending proceedings for re-removal.
ICE representatives emphasized that the operation was a lawful enforcement of an existing deportation order and that U.S. immigration policy requires follow-through—even in cases where individuals are encountered after prior deportations.
Legal experts note such incidents are not uncommon: individuals previously deported may return to the U.S. and face arrest and removal upon reentry. Under federal law, reentry after deportation may be treated as a felony offense.
ICE issued a statement saying the enforcement action took place “without incident” and that agents acted in accordance with federal immigration statutes. The agency added that the suspect will remain in detention and will undergo expedited removal proceedings.
