Germany, Denmark Urge Iran to Respect Rights of Jewish Communities

Germany and Denmark have jointly called on Iran to respect and safeguard the rights of Jewish communities and other religious minorities, amid growing concerns over escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In a coordinated diplomatic statement, both countries expressed “deep alarm” over recent developments in Iran, urging the government to uphold its international commitments to religious freedom. They highlighted the importance of ensuring Jewish communities in Iran can live without fear of harassment or state-sanctioned discrimination.
The declaration follows reports of increasing restrictions on practicing Judaism in parts of the Muslim-majority country. Authorities in Bonn and Copenhagen emphasized that protecting all religious groups is a fundamental part of diplomatic responsibility and global human rights standards.
The joint appeal also called on Iran to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid amid regional instability and to engage constructively with the international community. Both Germany and Denmark stressed that strong diplomatic ties depend on mutual commitment to human rights and respect for diverse faith traditions.
