Casper Recycling Depot Temporarily Closed for Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo

The City of Casper has announced that the recycling depot located on Wyoming Boulevard near Fairside Road will be temporarily closed from Thursday, July 3 through Monday, July 14 to accommodate the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo, Oil City News reports.
According to a city news release, the closure is a safety precaution. Solid Waste Manager Cynthia Langston explained that the move helps prevent fairgoers from parking at the depot and attempting to cross Wyoming Boulevard / State Highway 258, which can experience high traffic volumes during the event.
“This depot is closed for safety, as it prevents fair visitors from parking at the depot and trying to dodge heavy traffic,” Langston stated.
During the closure, residents are encouraged to use one of seven other recycling depots in the Casper area:
Paradise Valley Pool – 5200 Iris St.
Mike Sedar Park – 781 College Drive
Huber Park – 3031 E. 5th St.
Meals on Wheels – 1760 E. 12th St.
Viking Court – Intersection of Blackmore and Wyoming Boulevard
North Casper Ball Park – 1700 East K Street
Balefill – 1886 N. Station Road
Additional drop-off locations for limited recyclables are also available at Red Deer Trail in Bar Nunn and behind Evansville Town Hall.
Langston noted that Casper residents drop off an average of 200 tons of recyclables each month at these depots. For more information, the public can contact the Solid Waste Division at 307-235-8246.
