Seven individuals are currently unaccounted for after a powerful explosion rocked a fireworks manufacturing plant in Southern California, authorities report.

The blast occurred early Tuesday at the facility, triggering large-scale evacuation orders for residents in the surrounding area due to ongoing fire and safety concerns.

Local fire departments and emergency services responded swiftly, setting up perimeter controls and deploying multiple firefighting units to contain the blaze and search for the missing personnel. Evacuation notices remain in effect as authorities work to ensure the public’s safety and prevent further explosions from connected fireworks stockpiles.

Residents nearby have been directed to temporary shelters, and officials are advising against re-entering the area until it has been declared secure. The cause of the explosion is under active investigation, with investigators searching for any signs of negligence or improper handling of explosive materials.
