Iran Demands Accountability from Israel, US After “War of Aggression”

Iran’s foreign ministry has condemned what it calls a “war of aggression” by Israel and the United States, calling on international bodies to hold both nations accountable for their military interventions in Gaza and the wider region.
In a statement released on Sunday, Iran accused Israel of carrying out widespread airstrikes in Gaza and alleged U.S. support for the operation as enabling mass civilian casualties. The ministry described these actions as violations of “international law” and urged the United Nations Security Council to launch an investigation.
Tehran also raised concerns over evidence of U.S. logistical support and funding for weapons used in strikes that, it says, targeted medical facilities, refugee camps, and residential areas. Iran argued that such assistance makes the U.S. complicit in alleged war crimes and grave breaches of humanitarian law.
The statement warned that accountability could include sanctions against individuals and countries responsible, as well as the referral of military leaders to the International Criminal Court.
Iranian officials emphasized that unresolved legal accountability risks paving the way for greater regional instability and prolonging cycles of violence. They urged global institutions to act swiftly to maintain order and uphold treaty obligations respecting civilians’ rights in conflict zones.
