Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran is open to resolving differences with the United States through dialogue, while emphasizing that rebuilding trust will be essential after the recent conflict with Israel.

Speaking in an interview published Monday, Pezeshkian said that issues between Iran and the US could be addressed “easily through talks,” but noted that trust had been significantly damaged by the recent military escalation. He added that confidence-building measures would be necessary to create the conditions for effective dialogue.

His comments follow a 12-day period of conflict involving Israeli strikes on Iranian territory and US airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities, which led to the suspension of ongoing nuclear negotiations. Iranian officials reported casualties and damage to infrastructure during the attacks.

Pezeshkian also claimed that Israel attempted to target him in an airstrike during the conflict, an attempt he said failed, while clarifying that the United States was not involved in that incident. He stressed that Iran would need clear assurances to trust that negotiations would not be disrupted by similar incidents in the future.

The Iranian president’s remarks indicate cautious readiness to pursue diplomatic engagement while reflecting the challenges of restoring trust between Tehran and Washington following recent tensions.
