Cyclists traveling with the Tour de Wyoming will be treated to a special cultural experience during their stop in Dubois on Wednesday, July 16—a free classical music concert featuring musicians from Jackson’s Grand Teton Music Festival, County 10 reports.

While the annual tour often includes evening entertainment such as performances by local bands and songwriters, this marks the first time a classical chamber music concert has been featured as part of the tour’s programming.

“We love to have local talent showcase their work for the riders,” said Beth Vanderborgh, a Wyoming cellist and member of the Tour de Wyoming organizing committee. “This year, we’re thrilled to partner with Dubois Chamber Music to present something new and special—a string quartet concert open not just to cyclists, but to the entire community.”

The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Headwaters Center, located at the eastern edge of Dubois Town Park on Stalnaker Street. Admission is free, thanks to the collaboration between the tour and Dubois Chamber Music.

The evening’s program opens with Strum, a lively and contemporary piece by American composer Jessie Montgomery, described as rich in rhythm and influenced by rock, jazz, and folk traditions. The concert will also include a work by Czech composer Antonin Dvořák and a medley of popular songs.

The featured performers—Jorie Butler-Geyer and Louise Morrison on violin, Chiara Kingsley Dieguez on viola, and Judith Galecki on cello—are members of the Grand Teton Music Festival who will be taking a brief break from their regular schedule to perform in Dubois.

The concert is part of a larger seasonal lineup organized by Dubois Chamber Music. Additional performances this year include the Ben Markley Jazz Trio on Sunday, August 17, and a concert by Jackson Hole Chamber Music at Dennison Lodge on Sunday, September 28.
