Ford is recalling more than 850,000 vehicles in the United States due to a potential fuel pump defect that could cause engines to stall, increasing the risk of crashes.

The recall affects various 2021–2023 models, including the Ford F‑150, Mustang, Bronco, Explorer, Expedition, and the Lincoln Navigator and Aviator. Ford stated that about 10% of the recalled vehicles are expected to have the defect, which involves the low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank.

Owners will begin receiving notification letters starting July 14, with repairs provided at no cost once parts and a remedy are available. Ford is still developing the repair plan for the affected vehicles.

While no crashes or injuries have been reported, Ford has urged drivers to watch for potential warning signs such as reduced engine power or the check engine light turning on, particularly in hot weather or when the fuel tank is low.

The company stated that the issue is related to possible contamination in the fuel pump and parts supplier changes, prompting the decision to proceed with a large-scale recall to ensure customer safety.
