FIFA says that ticket sales for the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Mexico, the United States, and Canada, will officially start on September 10. The football body is encouraging fans to register their interest early via its website to get lucky at the first round of tickets.
The call came just a day after the FIFA Club World Cup ended in the U.S., which FIFA called a “rousing success” and a strong lead-up to next year’s global tournament.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the world back to North America, as Canada, Mexico and the United States host what will be the biggest and greatest sporting event ever,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “We encourage fans everywhere to get ready to secure their place – these will be the most coveted seats in world sport.”
While specific pricing and seat details haven’t been released, FIFA said that pre-registered fans will be able to “apply for their first chance to buy tickets” starting September 10.
“There will be several distinct ticket sales phases from the start of sales on 10 September 2025, through to the final match on Sunday, 19 July 2026,” the organization said. “Each phase may differ in purchasing processes, payment methods and ticket products, and full details on each phase will be released in the coming months.”
The 2026 World Cup, expected to be the biggest in history with an expanded 48-team format, will start in Mexico City on June 11 and wrap up with the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19.
