Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville isn’t sweating Hunter Biden’s recent outburst — but he’s not exactly buying into the hype around a future White House run, either.

Carville appeared on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Thursday, where he was asked about Hunter Biden’s chances as a potential 2028 presidential contender. The question followed a fiery three-hour interview earlier this week, where the younger Biden slammed prominent Democrats — including Carville — for failing to back his father, former President Joe Biden, during the 2024 campaign.

“Hasn’t run a race in forty f–kin’ years,” Hunter said of Carville, in a clip that quickly spread across social media.

Carville didn’t take it personally. “I don’t take any offense,” he said. “This guy’s emotional. He’s hurt for his daddy. I completely understand that.”

But when it came to whether Hunter could actually make a serious run for office, Carville ducked the question. The idea was floated by none other than Joe Rogan this week, who claimed on his podcast that Hunter Biden might surprise people.

“He could be president,” Rogan said. “No bulls–t.”

Rogan went on to defend Biden’s intelligence and openness about his past, saying Hunter was “smarter than his dad when his dad was young” — despite, as Rogan put it, being “a crackhead.”

Carville, however, kept the conversation focused on the party’s broader issues. Asked who might be “man enough” to lead the Democrats in the next cycle, he said the party isn’t lacking in potential — it just needs someone who can speak clearly and with conviction.

“I don’t care about gender,” he said. “I want somebody that can talk definitively and clearly.”

Carville also laid out what he believes went wrong in 2024, pointing the finger at Vice President Kamala Harris. According to him, she failed to offer a break from the Biden years — a move that, in his view, cost Democrats the race.

“The country wanted change,” Carville said. “And Harris, for whatever reason, refused to say she would change the direction of Biden. I think that cost the election.”
