Oftedal Construction lands major contract as Wyoming Transportation Commission greenlights $33M in infrastructure upgrades, Oil City News reports.

A Casper-based construction firm just landed a massive payday.

Oftedal Construction Inc. snagged the lion’s share of funding during the Wyoming Transportation Commission’s July 17 meeting, locking in a $30.68 million contract as part of a slate of infrastructure projects across the state.

The big-ticket project combines wildlife crossings and culvert cleaning in Lincoln and Uinta counties, and includes everything from fencing and grading to asphalt paving and drainage improvements.

The deal is a huge win for the longtime Wyoming contractor, and a major step toward improving both driver safety and wildlife movement in the region.

While Oftedal grabbed the headline figure, four other companies also walked away with state-backed jobs:

  • Reiman Corp., based in Cheyenne, won a $1.35 million contract for a bridge replacement and rehab project in Converse County. Work includes structure upgrades, traffic control, and grading, with a wrap-up date set for October 31, 2026.
  • Whitaker Construction Company Inc. of Utah was awarded $378,525 for stormwater pipe-lining work scattered across Carbon County. The job also includes erosion control and some site clearing.
  • Afton-based Avail Valley Construction-WY LLC secured a $397,817 contract for riprap and fence replacement across Fremont County. Their work will cover seeding, grading, and traffic control.

All told, the Transportation Commission handed out $33.1 million in construction contracts this month—another solid investment in Wyoming’s roads, bridges, and environmental safety.
