Three killed, several injured in Brooklyn nightclub shooting

A night out in Brooklyn turned deadly early Sunday when gunfire erupted inside a crowded club, leaving three men dead and at least eight others injured.
Police say the shooting happened just before 3:30am at Taste of the City Lounge in Crown Heights. Investigators believe up to four people opened fire after “a dispute,” using multiple weapons.
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said officers recovered at least 36 shell casings from the scene and also found a firearm on a nearby street.
The victims include eight men and three women, all being treated in hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
What makes this stand out even more is that New York has been seeing record lows in gun violence this year.
“We have the lowest numbers of shooting incidents and shooting victims seven months into the year that we’ve seen on record,” Tisch noted. “Something like this is, of course, thank God, an anomaly.”
The city is still shaken after another recent tragedy in July, when a gunman killed five people, including himself, in a Manhattan office building while targeting the NFL.
