TRICARE Extends Prescription Refill Waivers in Four Wyoming Counties as Wildfires Rage

TRICARE Extends Prescription Refill Waivers in Four Wyoming Counties as Wildfires Rage
Defense Health Agency Media Advisory

Wildfires continue to disrupt life across Wyoming, and now TRICARE is stepping in to make sure beneficiaries don’t run out of critical medications, DVIDS reports.

The Defense Health Agency announced that temporary prescription refill waivers have been extended through Aug. 27 for TRICARE members in Fremont, Park, and Washakie counties. Beneficiaries in Hot Springs County also get an extra day—moving their original Aug. 26 deadline to Aug. 27.

The waivers mean TRICARE users can pick up emergency refills of their prescriptions at any retail network pharmacy. Just bring in your prescription bottle. If it’s missing, damaged, or unreadable, contact Express Scripts or a network pharmacy directly for help.

Finding a pharmacy is simple: call Express Scripts at 1-877-363-1303 or use their online locator at militaryrx.express-scripts.com/find-pharmacy. If possible, try the same pharmacy where the prescription was originally filled—or, if it’s part of a chain, another store in that chain. Prescribing clinicians can also call in a new prescription to any network location.

TRICARE also reminded beneficiaries that they can get urgent care without a referral (except active-duty service members) at any authorized urgent care clinic or provider. And of course, anyone experiencing a true emergency should call 911 or head to the nearest ER immediately.
