Casper is about to become the heart of competition and community spirit when the Special Olympics Wyoming State Fall Tournament rolls into town October 8–10.

Athletes and teams from across the state will be going for gold in bocce, bowling, cycling, and soccer, with events spread across some of Casper’s favorite spots — from El Mark-O Lanes and the North Casper Soccer Fields to Natrona County High School, Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park, and even the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds.

But before the games begin, the “Flame of Hope” will light up the city. Local law enforcement officers, along with county, state, and federal partners, will carry the torch in the Casper leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run on October 8. The flame will make its way to the Opening Ceremony, arriving at Natrona County High School around 4:45 p.m.

Competition officially kicks off October 9 and wraps up the next day with soccer, bocce, and bowling finals.
