The opening full weekend of Wyoming high school football didn’t tiptoe in—it kicked the door down. Every team has now played at least one official game (a few have two), and the early picture is wild: 28 teams remain undefeated, every squad in 1A 6-Man South is perfect, and the 6-Man North hasn’t cracked the win column yet. Outside of 4A—where every game is a league game—most conferences are still sorting themselves out. Here’s where things stand through Sept. 6, 2025.

(Ties are listed alphabetically. In 4A, all games count as conference games.)

Class 4A (all games = conference games)

  • Campbell County 2-0
  • Cheyenne East 2-0
  • Natrona County 2-0
  • Sheridan 2-0
  • Cheyenne Central 1-1
  • Laramie 1-1
  • Cheyenne South 0-2
  • Kelly Walsh 0-2
  • Rock Springs 0-2
  • Thunder Basin 0-2

Quick read: Four big dogs at 2–0, four trying to climb out of 0–2. Buckle up.

Class 3A

East (Conference record, Overall)

  • Buffalo 1-0
  • Douglas 1-0
  • Lander 1-0
  • Riverton 1-1
  • Torrington 1-1
  • Rawlins 0-2

West

  • Star Valley 2-0
  • Cody 1-0
  • Evanston 1-1
  • Jackson 1-1
  • Green River 0-2
  • Powell 0-2

Quick read: Star Valley and Cody look like themselves; Buffalo–Douglas–Lander all off on the right foot in the East.

Class 2A

East (Conference record, Overall)

  • Burns 2-0
  • Big Horn 1-0
  • Glenrock 0-1
  • Moorcroft 0-1
  • Newcastle 0-1
  • Upton–Sundance 0-1
  • Tongue River 0-2
  • Wheatland 0-2

West

  • Mountain View 2-0
  • Kemmerer 1-0
  • Pinedale 1-0
  • Thermopolis 1-0
  • Worland 1-0
  • Cokeville 0-1
  • Lovell 0-1
  • Lyman 0-2

Quick read: Burns and Mountain View out front early; a crowded pack of 1–0s chasing in the West.

Class 1A 9-Man

East (Conference record, Overall)

  • Lingle-Ft. Laramie 1-0
  • Pine Bluffs 1-0
  • Saratoga 1-0
  • Lusk 0-1
  • Southeast 0-1
  • Wright 0-1

West

  • Big Piney 1-0
  • Greybull 1-0
  • Rocky Mountain 1-0
  • Shoshoni 0-1
  • Wind River 0-1
  • Wyoming Indian 0-1

Quick read: Chalk so far—top halves unbeaten on both sides.

Class 1A 6-Man

North (Conference record, Overall)

  • Hulett 0-1
  • Meeteetse 0-1
  • Ten Sleep 0-1
  • Burlington 0-2
  • Riverside 0-2
  • Kaycee 0-2
  • Midwest 0-2

South

  • Casper Christian 2-0
  • Dubois 2-0
  • Encampment 2-0
  • E.M. 2-0
  • Farson-Eden 1-0
  • Little Snake River 1-0

Quick read: Pure split screen—South is spotless, North is skunked. Circle those inter-divisional dates.

Week 1 is for vibes more than verdicts, but a few themes popped:

  • 4A parity is real: Four teams at 2–0 and four at 0–2 means the middle is going to be a weekly fistfight.
  • Brand names look like brand names: Star Valley, Cody, Burns, Mountain View—no surprise they’re setting the early tempo.
  • 6-Man is a tale of two halves: If the North can’t flip the script soon, cross-bracket stakes get spicy by October.

Next week brings more data and the first real separation in the standings outside 4A. For now, enjoy the chaos—Wyoming football came out hot.
