Week 3 of the 2025 Wyoming prep season stretches across Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and it’s a busy one: four ranked-vs-ranked clashes, a No. 1 vs. No. 2 headliner in 4A, every ranked 3A team packing a suitcase for road tests, the final non-conference tune-ups for 3A and 9-man, and a handful of cross-border games to spice things up.
Thursday already delivered drama. In 2A, No. 5 Lingle-Ft. Laramie edged Shoshoni 34–31 on a 45-yard field goal with 37 seconds left. Under the six-man lights, Hulett outlasted Meeteetse 65–61 in the Red Devils’ first home night game, sealing it with a late score before the Longhorns answered with two seconds left and simply ran out of time. Encampment’s date with Guernsey-Sunrise was canceled.
Friday’s marquee is in 4A at 6 p.m., where No. 1 Sheridan walks into No. 2 Cheyenne East for the state’s top-two showdown. Right alongside it, No. 3 Natrona County visits No. 4 Campbell County in a heavyweight undercard at the same hour. In the Capital City, No. 5 Cheyenne Central crosses town to face Cheyenne South, while Rock Springs heads to Laramie and Thunder Basin travels to Kelly Walsh. Local radio and school streams have you covered if you can’t make it in person.
Every ranked 3A squad is on the road for its last non-league test: No. 2 Cody heads to Buffalo, No. 3 Riverton rolls into Green River, No. 4 Douglas treks to Powell, and No. 5 Lander lines up at Evanston—all kicking at 6 p.m. In 2A conference play, the day starts early with No. 2 Mountain View at No. 4 Cokeville at 1 p.m., and the evening slate stacks up with Kemmerer at No. 5 Thermopolis at 5 p.m., No. 1 Big Horn at Newcastle at 6, Lyman at No. 3 Lovell at 6, plus Pinedale at Worland, Tongue River at Moorcroft, Upton-Sundance at Wheatland (all at 6), and Glenrock at Burns wrapping at 7.
Nine-man’s final non-conference weekend has a monster at the top: No. 2 Big Piney visits No. 1 Pine Bluffs at 6 p.m. Earlier, No. 3 Saratoga is at Rocky Mountain at 1 p.m., with Wyoming Indian at Southeast at 5, and Greybull at Lusk and Wind River at Wright both kicking at 6. In six-man, Ten Sleep heads to No. 3 Burlington for a 2 p.m. conference start.
There’s a cross-state flavor too. Colorado’s Delta drops in at 3A Rawlins at 5 p.m., Yuma (CO) is at 3A Torrington at 6, while 3A No. 1 Star Valley crosses into Idaho to face Soda Springs at 7 and Jackson travels to Bear Lake, also at 7.
Saturday keeps the lights on in six-man: No. 5 Farson-Eden visits No. 4 H.E.M. at 1 p.m., Riverside heads to No. 1 Little Snake River at 2, and Kaycee plays at Midwest at 6. Casper Christian and Dubois are off this week.
Scores, notes and broadcast links are rolling all weekend on the WyoPreps scoreboard—stream a game, follow along, and enjoy the last round of non-conference chess before league play tightens the screws.
