Taylor Swift has done it again. Her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, just dropped and instantly became the most pre-saved album in Spotify history — surpassing the record she herself set last year with The Tortured Poets Department.
The 35-year-old superstar teamed up once more with Swedish pop architects Max Martin and Shellback, delivering a set of sparkling, danceable tracks that mark a new chapter in her career.
On Instagram, Swift shared photos in full showgirl glam and wrote:
“Tonight all these lives converge here, the mosaics of laughter and cocktails of tears … I can’t tell you how proud I am to share this with you, an album that just feels so right.”
Calling the record a “self-portrait,” she thanked Martin and Shellback, and hinted at parallels with her globe-dominating Eras Tour:
“If you thought the big show was wild, perhaps you should come and take a look behind the curtain.”
The album’s 12 tracks paint a brighter picture of Swift, who’s celebrating her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce and the satisfaction of reclaiming her music catalogue. Ahead of the release, she described the project as coming from “the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life.”
As always, fans are already deep-diving into lyrics and liner notes for Easter eggs, secret nods and coded hints that might signal future projects or personal revelations.
