Wyoming Wants Your Take on Rural Health — Here’s How to Weigh In
Wyoming Health Department

Governor Mark Gordon and Wyoming Department of Health Director Stefan Johansson are asking residents to help shape the state’s Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) — and they’ve added one more chance to be heard, Sheridan Media reports.

A virtual public meeting is set for Thursday, Oct. 9, 3:00–4:00 p.m. Join online, or dial in at +1 575-414-0419 and enter PIN 133 425 386#. There’s also an online survey running Oct. 8–15 so folks who can’t make the meeting can still weigh in.

Gordon says the goal is simple: give Wyomingites a direct say in how to strengthen healthcare and wellness in rural communities. The state’s effort lines up with the federal RHTP push for sustainable, innovative solutions — and your feedback will guide Wyoming’s funding application and priorities.

After a string of in-person forums around the state, several themes kept popping up: trouble recruiting and keeping healthcare workers; pressures on hospitals and long-term care; the need to reinforce primary care and the physician-patient bond; gaps in behavioral health; “maternity deserts” and limited OB services; and long-term stability for EMS. Officials say those comments are already shaping the plan — and this extra virtual session is meant to make sure no voices are missed.
