Drivers got a little relief this week. Wyoming’s average gas price fell 9.8 cents to $2.90 a gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 494 stations. That’s 19.7 cents cheaper than a month ago and 24 cents lower than a year back. Prices still vary widely: the cheapest posted $2.47 on Sunday, while the priciest hit $3.49.
Nationally, regular slid 4.1 cents to $2.98 a gallon, down 19.3 cents on the month and 15.2 cents year over year. Diesel also eased, off 3.7 cents to $3.591.
“Gas prices have finally fallen below $3 per gallon nationally—the earliest we’ve seen $2.99 since 2020,” said GasBuddy’s Patrick De Haan, crediting steady OPEC+ output increases.
He noted 35 states now average under $2.99, and one Colorado station even flashed $1.99 cash. Barring major disruptions, he expects prices to stay slightly below last year’s levels — and potentially under $3 — for the next few months.
Closer to home, Natrona County remains Wyoming’s low-price leader at $2.57 on average, with spots as low as $2.38 reported in Casper.
