Central Wyoming College is tuning up for one of its most meaningful traditions: a Veterans Day Concert that puts service and sacrifice front and center. The free, one-hour program lands Monday, Nov. 11, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre in Riverton, and everyone’s invited, County 10 reports.
Expect a mix of patriotic standards, history-steeped pieces, and contemporary selections stitched together to honor veterans, active-duty service members, and the families who shoulder the load with them. The evening opens with “The Star-Spangled Banner” and a reflective poem before detouring overseas with “Waltzing Matilda.” The Women’s Choir will deliver “In Flanders Fields,” a perennial goosebumps moment, and Riverton High School singers join the program for several choral numbers — proof that the next generation has the spotlight and the message.
There’s room for swing and soul, too. “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” and “Apple Blossom Time” nod to the World War II era; “Lift Every Voice and Sing” expands the American songbook; and “Sing” brings the crowd-pleaser energy. From there, the Advanced Choir leans into storytelling with “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story,” while the Mixed Choir answers with “My Shot.” A special poem reading leads into a choral finale — either “Heal Our Land” or “A Living Prayer” — before the whole house rises for “God Bless America.”
“This concert is more than a performance—it’s an expression of gratitude,” said Joey West, CWC’s Instructor of Theater. “The singers have poured their hearts into every song. Each note and lyric is dedicated to the veterans who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.”
If you’re planning to go: it’s free, open to the public, and starts at 7 p.m. sharp on Nov. 11 at the Robert A. Peck Arts Center on the CWC campus. More details are posted at cwc.edu/event/veterans-day-concert.
For CWC, the concert isn’t just a date on the calendar — it’s part of a wider mission to blend artistry with purpose, connecting students to their community and giving thanks the way musicians do best: in harmony.
