Wyoming Waste Systems will bump rates for Green River residents and businesses by 3% on Jan. 1, 2026, site manager Michelle Foote told the City Council Tuesday night.

The company says the adjustment tracks the Consumer Price Index for urban consumers from September 2024 to September 2025. Tipping fees at the city’s transfer station are rising too, to $97.56 per ton.

Customers will see notices on their bills between October 2025 and January 2026 so there’s a heads-up before the new prices kick in, Foote said.

She also stressed the company’s local support hasn’t skipped a beat: Wyoming Waste covered trash service for Flaming Gorge Days, the River Festival, and the Downtown Monster Bash at no charge, and handed out its second annual scholarship to a Green River High School senior.
