A DoorDash driver has been permanently removed from the company’s platform after a Sheridan woman reported receiving sexually suggestive text messages from him hours after he delivered her food. Local police confirmed a complaint was filed, and several other women have since come forward with similar experiences.

The incident began February 10 when the woman received a DoorDash delivery around 2 p.m. At 9:47 p.m., she received an unsolicited text from the driver, according to Sheridan Police Capt. Tom Ringley. The message, shared on social media, read: “Hello beautiful I door dashed to you today and I have to say is wow. You looked good in your purple panties.”

The woman responded that the message was highly inappropriate and that she would report him. She later clarified on social media that she had not answered the door in her underwear but was wearing purple shorts due to the warmth of her apartment. Police confirmed the text exchange matched the screenshot she posted.

When contacted by authorities, the man acknowledged sending the message and said he understood it could be viewed as “tasteless.” Ringley said there were no grounds for criminal charges, as the single message did not indicate an ongoing pattern of harassment or stalking.

DoorDash responded swiftly. In a statement to Cowboy State Daily, the company said: “What occurred was unacceptable. DoorDash has zero tolerance for this type of behavior, and we permanently removed the individual’s access to our platform.”

Following the woman’s social media post, at least three other local women reported similar disturbances involving the same man. Destiny Fleenor, one of the commenters, told Cowboy State Daily that previous harassment by the individual reignited trauma from being kidnapped as a child. “It created a lot of paranoia and triggered me mentally,” she said.

The Sheridan Police Department confirmed the man lives locally but has not named him, as no charges were filed. The woman who filed the original complaint did not respond to requests for comment.
