UW’s Pedersen named finalist for 2026 Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game

Wyoming Cowgirl Malene Pedersen was recently named a finalist for the 2026 Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game, scheduled for April 4.

Pedersen earned the honor as one of 100 top women’s basketball seniors nationally, and is one of just three finalists from the Mountain West Conference. The two-time All-Mountain West honoree averaged 17.2 points per game this season on 44.6% shooting, leading the Cowgirls with 55 3-pointers.

Pedersen closed her Wyoming career with a career-best 29 points against Air Force, scoring in double figures in 49 consecutive games. She ranks seventh in program history with 1,713 career points, averaging 13.2 per game. She finished sixth in UW history with 639 career field goals and 10th in 3-pointers with 167 made. Her career free throw percentage of 88.4% is the best in program history.

As reported earlier, Pedersen poured in a career-best 27 points in Wyoming’s 71–66 victory over top-seeded UNLV on Wednesday. She went 9-of-17 from the floor and hit five 3-pointers, a career high. Pedersen, who recorded her sixth 20-point game of the season in the victory, also added four rebounds, four assists and a steal.

She and the rest of the Cowgirls now have their sights set on the Mountain West Championship in Las Vegas. Wyoming, the second seed, will face the winner of Air Force and Utah State Monday at 6 p.m.
