Wyoming communities came together in a powerful show of generosity during this year’s Bowl for Jason’s Friends fundraising events, raising more than $510,000 to support families facing childhood cancer.

The 28th Annual Bowl for Jason’s Friends in Casper, the 4th Annual event in Gillette and the inaugural Cheyenne event brought together hundreds of bowlers, volunteers, sponsors and donors at El Mark-O Lanes, Camelanes Bowling Center and Derby Lanes.

“This event truly reflects the heart of Wyoming,” said Jason’s Friends Executive Director Christine Robinson. “The generosity we see every year — from the bowlers to the sponsors to the volunteers — is incredible.”

The funds will go toward the $840,000 family financial support budget for 2026, assisting more than 180 Wyoming families currently enrolled who have a child diagnosed with cancer, a brain tumor or a spinal cord tumor. Since its founding in 1996, Jason’s Friends has provided more than $9 million in financial assistance.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, families must travel out of state because Wyoming has no primary pediatric cancer center. Jason’s Friends helps with travel expenses—fuel, meals and lodging—and covers essential household bills like rent, mortgage and utilities so parents can focus on being with their child during treatment.

The organization has recently expanded to include mental health assistance, covering counseling costs for children, siblings and parents, and reimburses families for their child’s annual medical insurance deductibles.

“This support exists because of the people of Wyoming,” Robinson said. “Their willingness to step up and care for neighbors they may never meet makes a life-changing difference.”
