Natrona County commissioners to weigh Squaw Creek Road status, new voting machine facility

CASPER, Wyo. — The Natrona County Board of County Commissioners will move Tuesday to codify the legal status of Squaw Creek Road as a public highway through the doctrine of prescription.
The commissioners are scheduled to meet for a work session at 3 p.m. at the Natrona County Courthouse, followed by the 5:30 p.m. regular meeting. Both sessions will be broadcast live on the county’s YouTube channel.
The 3 p.m. work session will open with a presentation of the Baker Tilly employee market study results, delivered by County Clerk Tracy Good, Human Resources Director Danielle Krucheck and Baker Tilly representatives. Following that, Sabrina Kemper and Garrett Rothenhoefer will present a Wyoming Energy Authority grant request for an LED lighting retrofit.
Road & Bridge Superintendent Mike Haigler will present design plans for a new voting machine and storage building, addressing the county’s need for secure, climate-controlled space for election equipment. Interim County Attorney Ashley Smith is also on the agenda to provide a legal update and agenda review.
After an executive session if deemed necessary, the commission will shift to general county business at 5:30 p.m. That agenda includes a public hearing regarding the establishment of County Road 502, known as Squaw Creek Road, through prescriptive rights—a legal process that recognizes a road as public based on long-term, continuous use.
The consent agenda includes an amendment to the contract with Environmental & Civil Solutions LLC for the new voting machine storage building design, a resolution announcing 2026 Board of Commissioners meetings and a bid award for a 2026 motor grader with attachments.
