The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, after a four-year absence, is making a triumphant return on Tuesday, October 16, streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Live, NBC News reports.
The show’s comeback comes amidst a period of significant transformation for the lingerie brand, as it seeks to leave behind past controversies.
The show was pulled in 2019 after facing declining ratings and a wave of criticism for its lack of diversity and body-positive representation. The brand was further embroiled in controversy following a 2020 New York Times investigation that detailed allegations of a culture of misogyny within the company.
Since then, Victoria’s Secret has undertaken efforts to revamp its image and appeal to a wider audience. This includes incorporation of more diverse models in its campaigns, a shift in its brand values statement to represent “all women.”
This year’s show will feature a significant departure from its past, with an all-women lineup for the first time. The event will be headlined by legendary singer Cher, and will also include performances by K-pop star Lisa and singer-songwriter Tyla.
The runway will feature a mix of established “Angels” and new faces, including Gigi Hadid, Mayowa Nicholas, Barbara Palvin, Behati Prinsloo, Jasmine Tookes, Adriana Lima, Ashley Graham, Paloma Elsesser, Devyn Garcia, and former “America’s Next Top Model” host Tyra Banks, who will be walking in her first fashion show in 20 years.
The show is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET, preceded by a Pink Carpet pre-show hosted by social media personality Tefi Pessoa and model Olivia Culpo at 6:30 p.m. ET.
