Wyoming Secures Commitment from 2,000-Yard Rusher Patrick Broadway II

In mid-January, Wyoming’s football staff granted running back Grayson Rigdon a release from his national letter of intent, leaving a vacancy in the team’s backfield, 7220 Sports reports.
On Monday, the Cowboys filled that spot with the commitment of Patrick Broadway II, a highly productive running back from Fulshear, Texas.
Broadway announced his commitment on social media and will officially join the program during the traditional signing period, which begins Wednesday. He becomes the third scholarship player to sign with Wyoming this year, following defensive tackle Gabriel Ikechukwu and edge rusher Jason Handy. Wyoming will also welcome walk-on long snapper Charlie Houston from Garland, Texas.
The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Broadway chose Wyoming over several other schools, including Prairie View A&M, Texas A&M-Kingsville, and Concordia-St. Paul. He also received interest from a range of schools, including Lincoln University (Missouri), Sterling College (Kansas), and others.
Broadway had an outstanding senior season, rushing for 2,134 yards on 187 carries, averaging 11.4 yards per carry. He scored 29 touchdowns and also caught 10 passes for 129 yards and two more scores. His impressive performance earned him District 20-6A Offensive MVP honors and a spot on the First Team for the second consecutive season. Broadway was also a finalist for Texas 6A Running Back of the Year.
In addition to Broadway, Wyoming has made several other recent additions to its running back corps, including junior Terron Kellman, who transferred from Charlotte, and freshmen Jaden Lawrence and Samuel “Tote” Harris. Returning players such as Harrison Waylee, Sam Scott, Nico Hamilton, and Dontae Burch will also be part of the Cowboys’ backfield in 2025.
Spring practice for Wyoming football is set to begin on March 25 in Laramie, with additional transfer portal players expected to join the team once the spring portal window opens on April 16.
