The Wyoming Cowgirls will wrap up their week at home with a Saturday afternoon matchup against San Jose State, News Letter Journal reports.

The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will mark Wyoming’s final home Saturday game of the season. Fans can tune in live via the Mountain West Network or listen to the broadcast on the Cowgirl Radio Network with David Settle providing the play-by-play.

Wyoming (15-9, 9-3 MW) comes into this game following a solid 64-56 victory over Air Force earlier in the week. Allyson Fertig had a standout performance in the win, scoring 30 points on 12-of-14 shooting, while also grabbing 15 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the 2024-25 season. Fertig is currently one of the nation’s top performers, leading the Mountain West in conference play with averages of 20.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and a 61.1% shooting percentage. Fertig is also just 26 rebounds shy of breaking the program’s career rebound record.

Malene Pedersen added 20 points in the win over Air Force, contributing three of the team’s six 3-pointers in the contest. This marked the fourth time this season that two Cowgirl players scored 20 or more points in the same game. Pedersen ranks 10th in scoring during Mountain West play and holds the second-highest field goal percentage in the league at 54%. She is also tied for third in the conference with a 3.4 assist-to-turnover ratio.

As a team, the Cowgirls are ranked fourth in the Mountain West in scoring (68.8 points per game) and lead the conference in defense, allowing just 59.7 points per contest. Wyoming also boasts the highest team field goal percentage in league play (50.2%) and leads the conference in assists per game (17.8) and blocks per game (3.83).

San Jose State (8-14, 3-9 MW) is led by Amiah Simmons, who averages 13.5 points per game. Sydni Summers is the second-highest scorer on the team, contributing 9.8 points per game. Summers also leads the Spartans with 56 made 3-pointers and 64 assists. In terms of rebounding, Finau Tonga and Djessira Diawara each average 5.8 rebounds per game, while Jasmine Singleton leads the team with 34 steals.

The Spartans are averaging 66 points per game while allowing 70.6 points per contest. They shoot 41% from the field and 30.7% from three-point range. Opponents are shooting at a 41.2% clip overall and making nearly 34% of their three-point attempts against San Jose State. Despite their struggles on offense, the Spartans have a +4.1 rebounding margin. San Jose State is seeking its third road win of the season.

Wyoming holds a commanding 19-3 all-time record against San Jose State, including a 77-64 victory over the Spartans in late January. The Cowgirls have won 14 consecutive games in the series, and they are 9-1 at home against San Jose State. In their previous matchup this season, Wyoming had five players score in double figures, with Malene Pedersen reaching a career milestone by surpassing 1,000 career points in the win.
