A fire was reported near LeBar Ranch, located in Converse County, Wyoming, which is owned by Georges LeBar, husband of famed drag queen RuPaul, Oil City News reports.

The fire, first noted by WildCAD at 6:11 p.m. on February 23, initially impacted an estimated 30 acres. By noon on February 26, the affected area had expanded significantly to 512 acres.

Firefighters worked through the night, and by 3:26 p.m. on February 26, the fire was reported as fully contained. No further information on the total acreage impacted or the cause of the fire has been provided at this time.

LeBar Ranch, which spans 60,000 acres across Wyoming and South Dakota, has been in LeBar’s family for generations. LeBar inherited the property from his grandfather, who ran a successful sheep and cattle business. While LeBar does not manage cattle on the land, he leases grazing rights to other ranchers. In addition, the ranch generates income through the leasing of mineral rights to oil companies and selling water rights.

RuPaul, in interviews about the ranch, has described it as a peaceful getaway where he and LeBar spend time reading, watching movies, and relaxing. However, their land management practices, particularly allowing oil extraction through fracking, have faced criticism. Critics argue that the process of fracking can damage the environment and release harmful methane into the atmosphere.
