Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office to Hold Public Vehicle Auction with Starting Bids as Low as $100

The Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office will hold a public vehicle auction next week, offering several cars and trucks with starting bids as low as $100, KGAB AM 650 reports.

The auction will take place on Tuesday at the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, located at 50140B US Highway 191 South in Rock Springs. Gates will open at 9:30 a.m., with bidding beginning at 10 a.m.

According to a post from the Sheriff’s Office, the following vehicles will be available:

  • 2004 Dodge Ram – Starting bid: $100
  • 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser – Starting bid: $100
  • 1998 GMC Sierra GMT400 – Starting bid: $100
  • 1999 Chevrolet Astro – Starting bid: $216
  • 2009 Volkswagen Routan – Starting bid: $100
  • 1996 Ford Taurus – Starting bid: $150

The Sheriff’s Office stated that these vehicles come from abandoned property sales. Efforts were made to locate the original owners before listing them for public auction, in accordance with Wyoming law.

Buyers should be aware that:

  • The history of the vehicles is unknown.
  • Most vehicles do not come with keys.
  • All vehicles are sold as-is, with no warranties.
  • The Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

Winning bidders must make payment in cash only by Friday, March 7.
