Authorities have issued a multi-state alert in the search for Brent Layman, a 60-year-old man last seen in Lander, Wyoming, on December 1, County 10 reports.
The Lander Police Department (LPD) placed the alert on December 27, following concerns raised by Layman’s family and employer.
According to a post shared by Layman’s daughter on social media, her father has been missing for several weeks. The last confirmed contact with him occurred on December 12, although he was reportedly last seen in Lander on December 1. Layman’s daughter expressed concern for his safety, stating that neither family nor his employer has heard from him.
Layman’s potential location is uncertain, with his daughter noting that he could be “anywhere between Wyoming to Utah or Nevada.”
Layman is described as 6’2″ tall with white hair that is sometimes shaved bald, a beard, and a mustache. He often wears a baseball hat. He drives a silver Subaru Forester, though it is unclear whether he is traveling with the vehicle.
Layman’s daughter emphasized the family’s deep concern and their hope for his safe return.
“His kids and family are all very worried and love him, and we just want him to be found,” she said in her post.

Anyone with information on Layman’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Lander Police Department at (307) 332-3131 or their local law enforcement agency.

As of December 31, Layman remains missing, and the search continues across multiple states. Authorities and his family are asking the public for any tips that might help locate him.
