After a year of separation and a brief period of public acrimony, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have officially been declared divorced by a Miami-Dade County judge, The Associated Press reports.
The ruling, which was signed on Friday, finalizes a confidential agreement reached by the couple, covering asset division, spousal support, and custody of their two daughters, Willa (4) and Delphine (2). The terms of the agreement remain undisclosed.
Judge Gina Beovides declared the marriage “irretrievably broken” and affirmed that the agreement, particularly the parenting plan, is in the best interest of the family.
The divorce proceedings, which began in September 2023, initially appeared to be headed for a lengthy and contentious battle, especially after Turner filed to obtain the children’s passports for a move to her native England. However, a settlement was reached in January, suggesting a reconciliation of sorts between the former couple.
Jonas, the 35-year-old Jonas Brothers singer, and Turner, the 28-year-old “Game of Thrones”actress, met through Instagram in 2016. They married in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony in May 2019, following the Billboard Music Awards.
Though the initial announcement of their separation was amicable, the custody dispute brought a brief period of public conflict before the amicable settlement was reached.
