President Donald Trump is set to host two crypto-focused events in May, targeting both traditional political donors and the growing community of cryptocurrency enthusiasts, CNBC reports.
The events are expected to bring in millions in support of his 2024 presidential campaign.
The first event, scheduled for May 5, is a high-dollar fundraiser organized by MAGA Inc. and will take place in Florida. Priced at $1.5 million per plate, it is among the most expensive ticketed political dinners in US history. The event will feature venture capitalist David Sacks, a vocal figure in both the cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence sectors who has been involved in shaping policy discussions around emerging technologies.
Later in the month, on May 22, Trump will host a second dinner — but with an unconventional twist. Instead of monetary donations, attendees will gain access by holding the $TRUMP meme coin, a cryptocurrency inspired by the former president. Entry to this dinner, which will be held at Trump National in Washington, will be determined through a blockchain-based contest run by the coin’s creators.
While the $TRUMP token dinner is generating buzz among crypto enthusiasts, event organizers have cautioned that attendance by Trump himself is not guaranteed. According to the terms and conditions, the event may be canceled “for any reason,” in which case eligible participants would receive a Trump-themed non-fungible token (NFT) in place of in-person access.
