A homicide suspect wanted in Colorado was apprehended early Friday morning by Wyoming law enforcement along Interstate 80 in Laramie County, County 10 reports.

The coordinated operation involved multiple agencies and utilized specialized equipment to bring the pursuit to a controlled conclusion.

According to a statement from the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP), the suspect was traveling eastbound on I-80 when troopers received an alert around 5:25 a.m. Law enforcement officers from the WHP and the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office responded swiftly to locate and intercept the vehicle.

A trooper from a specialized WHP unit deployed the Grappler police pursuit system near mile marker 367. The Grappler is a netting device designed to entangle and stop the rear wheels of a fleeing vehicle. During the intervention, both the suspect’s and the patrol vehicle entered the median, causing the patrol car to roll.

The trooper involved sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He was later released. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident by Laramie County deputies.

“This incident is a powerful example of the strong partnerships among Wyoming’s law enforcement agencies,” said WHP Colonel Tim Cameron. “Our Troopers responded in a supporting role with precision and courage. I’m proud of their actions and grateful that there were no serious injuries.”

Cameron expressed appreciation for the agencies involved, noting their coordinated efforts and shared commitment to public safety.
