Kemmerer Resident Wins 2025 Wyoming Governor’s Wild Bison Raffle

Governor Mark Gordon has announced Andrew Merritt of Kemmerer as the winner of the 2025 Wyoming Governor’s Wild Bison Raffle, according to a recent release from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Oil City News reports.
The raffle is part of the Wyoming Governor’s Big Game License Coalition, a statewide initiative that supports wildlife conservation efforts and habitat improvement projects. This year’s raffle raised $5,540 to aid those efforts.
“Congratulations to Andrew, and best of luck for a successful wild bison hunt this year,” Governor Gordon said in the announcement. “Thank you to Wyoming residents who purchased a raffle ticket. The money raised through this, and all of our license raffles, goes to support Wyoming’s incredible wildlife and the on-the-ground conservation efforts that are essential in preserving the unique hunting opportunities Wyoming offers.”
The Big Game License Coalition generates over $1 million annually through the sale of designated big game licenses, which are authorized by state law. Proceeds are used to fund various conservation efforts across the state.
The coalition works in partnership with organizations such as the Mule Deer Foundation, Muley Fanatics Foundation, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Wyoming Wild Sheep Foundation. Funded projects include habitat restoration, wildlife-friendly fencing, and the development of wildlife crossings to reduce vehicle collisions.
