Kandace Sitting Eagle, 34-year-old Wyoming woman, has received a prison sentence of 10 years for child abuse.

As court documents and testimonies indicate, the woman used to continuously beat her 13-year-old son for weeks last fall. On top of that, her husband also took part in the abuse, as well as assisting to isolate the boy in his room and denying him the food on purpose.

According to what the police have learned, as a result of this the child has actually went missing and stoped attending school classes. Later during the investigation the officers found out his nose and spine were broken along with other severe injuries.

The mother said she was forced to abuse her son by the husband and tried to shift all the blame on him. He consequently pleaded guilty and got a 108-month sentence. However, US District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson has later sentenced Kandace Sitting Eagle to the 121-month jail-time, while at the same time legally making her pay $33,000 for her son’s medical treatment by Wyoming Medicaid.
