In a wide-ranging interview aboard Air Force One, President Donald Trump struck a confident tone as he criticized Democratic leadership, reaffirmed support for his legislative agenda, and commented on contentious cultural issues, as per Fox News.

The interview featured Trump addressing the Democratic Party’s ongoing opposition to his administration and policies, particularly in his second term.

“They suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome at a high level,” Trump said, referring to persistent criticism from Democrats. “I guess I’m honored by that.”

Trump argued that Democrats are currently disoriented and politically fractured following recent electoral setbacks and internal divisions. “They don’t know where they are right now. They don’t know what to do—like men playing in women’s sports,” he said.

In the interview, Trump focused on hot-button social issues, particularly transgender participation in women’s sports—a topic he said resonates overwhelmingly with voters.

“They always say it’s 80–20, but I think this issue is 99–1,” he told host Sean Hannity. “In one way, I don’t like talking about it because I don’t want to talk them out of it. It would be harder to beat them if they were normal on things. It shows that they’re almost insane.”

Trump also took aim at Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), accusing him of losing his political nerve in the face of rising influence from the progressive wing of the party, including figures like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jasmine Crockett.

“Chuck Schumer — I’ve known him so long — he’s totally lost his confidence,” Trump said. “I think he’s afraid.”

Despite these criticisms, Trump expressed optimism that some Democrats would ultimately support his administration’s flagship budget initiative—dubbed the “big, beautiful bill”—due to key provisions aimed at reducing drug prices.

“One of the major components of this bill is a 50% to 90% reduction in prescription drug and pharmaceutical prices,” Trump explained. “I think a lot of Democrats are going to be forced to vote for the bill because of that. I don’t think they can win an election if they don’t.”

The bill is part of Trump’s broader legislative push as he continues to shape his second-term agenda, with trade policy and foreign relations also ranking high on his priorities.
