A Kemmerer couple faces multiple child endangerment charges after police and state caseworkers discovered four children living in a mobile home “covered in filth,” with rotting food, garbage, flies, and soiled mattresses throughout. When authorities arrived, the couple reportedly blocked entry, demanded to know who reported them, and said they were “sick of being harassed for no reason.”

Kemmerer Police Sgt. Jake Walker and a Department of Family Services worker responded to a report of unsafe conditions at the Foothills Mobile Home and RV Park. Even standing outside on the porch, Walker wrote that the odor from the trailer was “overwhelming.” Instead of showing concern for their children—three of whom appeared to be 10 or younger—the couple became agitated and angry.

Jeremyha Warren immediately became frustrated and “stated they were sick of being harassed for no reason,” the affidavit says. When Walker and the DFS worker began entering, Warren followed, calling the situation “f***ing bullshit.” Walker told Warren to stay outside out of concern he might harm the caseworker. Warren replied that he had a right to be in his own home.

Inside, the conditions were shocking. In the children’s bedroom, the floor was “completely covered in clothes, plates, bowls, food, and garbage.” Only one mattress had a sheet, and “the sheet was soiled and the pillow was soiled so bad that it was no longer white.” A crockpot on the nightstand held old, rotting food that was turning black. The room was buzzing with flies.

The master bedroom was equally appalling. Trash, clothes, and food containers were piled so high that Walker could not see the opposite side of the bed. A crib next to the bed was blocked by junk and trash, making it inaccessible. In one bathroom, a large hole was found over the shower area, and tissues with dried blood and human fecal matter were piled from the floor to counter height. The kitchen also was full of flies, and the odor was so bad it seemed a dead animal was present. “Every wall was covered in filth,” Walker wrote. “Cobwebs were present in almost every corner and ceiling, and it appeared they had been there for years.”

All four children were removed from the home. Samanta Dunn-Warren and Jeremyha Warren were arrested and each charged with four misdemeanor counts of endangering a child. If convicted, each faces up to four years in prison, fines of up to $4,000, or both. They appeared in court Wednesday.
